Abstract
ABSTRACT PT. Betts Indonesia is a company engaged in packaging. The main product of this company is a plastic tube. PT. Betts Indonesia is a capital-intensive company so that the need for energy is very large, especially in electricity. The biggest energy contributor is in the production section. The production machine uses a Swiss-made AISA brand machine where there are 3 energy sources that are needed, namely electrical energy, pressurized air and water cooling. In this machine the main system uses an average pneumatic so that it requires a lot of compressed air. The most inefficient compressed air is found in the Trimming system. Based on the background above the trimming system contained in the tubing machine uses a ventury system that requires considerable pressure air. Trimming with a vacuum motor system uses a motor with a capacity of 0.75 kw and is controlled by an inverter that is able to withstand a maximum load of 1.5 kw. When the inverter start engine gets the signal from the engine which is then processed and releases the voltage to run the vacuum motor. Trimming uses a ventury system that utilizes water flow of ± 300 l / min or equivalent to a motorized motor with a capacity of 1.43 kw (conversion of 1 kw = 209.3 l / min / 6.8 bar for sullair brand central compressors). While the trimming vacuum uses a vacuum motor system with a capacity of 0.75 kw as a vacuum motor drive. Thus, after installation of the equipment, there is an energy savings equivalent to a motor with a capacity of 0.68 kw. Or it can save energy consumption by 47.5%. So the trimming system with a vacuum motor system can be more efficient. Keywords : Trimming, Motor Vacuum and Energy Efficiency
