Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the impact of using writing report text as a teaching media on enhancing students' public speaking skills. The research employed a quantitative experimental research design with a pre-test post-test approach. The population of this research comprised 1260 students from SMAN 1 Bangsal, and a sample of 35 students was selected from class 10 IPA2 using convenience sampling. The research intervention involved utilizing writing report text as a media tool for teaching public speaking skills. The pre-test was conducted to assess students' initial public speaking abilities before the intervention, and the post-test was administered after implementing the report text media as part of the teaching approach. The data obtained were analyzed using quantitative methods, and the results indicated a significant effect of writing report text as media on students' public speaking skills. The findings demonstrated a notable improvement in students' public speaking abilities after the intervention In conclusion, this research establishes the positive impact of utilizing writing report text as media in teaching public speaking skills to students at SMAN 1 Bangsal. The research provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of this approach, offering a promising avenue for enhancing students' communication skills and fostering their confidence in public speaking.
