Abstract
Teaching practice is an important factor in successful learning. This is proven by previous research which notes that low student performance is not only caused by low understanding of the content but is also influenced by teachers' practices in the learning process. while intercultural understanding has long been considered an important aspect of English language proficiency. This research aims to provide insight into how teachers integrate intercultural aspects into their teaching practices and how this influences students' understanding of English and the cultural differences it contains. This research will try to analyze teaching practices in teaching cross-cultural reading courses at Majapahit Islamic University. The researcher chose a qualitative design with a qualitative descriptive approach, the final results obtained were in the form of explanations starting from the initial preparation before learning, the stages before reading, while reading, until after reading, as well as the material. and assignments given in intercultural reading learning in the fourth semester. Teachers prepare materials, reading materials, navigation of the system used for learning, and methods of delivery and interaction as well as teaching outside of learning materials before class starts, in four observation meetings and one interview with one teacher and two student researchers found that the teaching practices What is used is providing a text, students are asked to answer questions related to the reading, then asked to build critical thinking concepts related to the culture they have acquired with the culture around them. The teaching practices used focus on active discussion activities, questioning the content of reading to improve students' reading skills while increasing cross-cultural insight that was previously unknown.
