Abstract

ABSTRACT Ilmia, Rifatul. 2021. Students’ Perceptions of Using Google Classroom In Practice Writing in EFL Class. A graduating paper. English Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Majapahit Islamic University (UNIM), Advisor (1) Rini Lindawati, M.Pd and Advisor (2) Nurhayati Ganinda, M.Pd Keyword: students perception, google classroom, qualitative research The purpose of this study was to determine students' perceptions of the use of Google Classroom in writing practice in the EFL class. The research method used in this research is qualitative research. Respondents in this study were students of class XII-IPA-1 Sma Negeri 1 Mojosari, totaling 5 students to become respondents. Data collection techniques in this study is interview and documentation techniques. The results of this study indicate that four students have a positive perception of the use of Google Classroom in the practice of writing English. They consider the use of google classroom to help in the learning process, make them more interested in learning, provide a new atmosphere for learning and the features provided are easy for students to use. Students also think that the use of google classroom supports students to keep learning even from home, because the use of google classroom can be used anywhere and anytime. But one of the respondents said that using google classroom was boring. This can be caused by changes in learning that are carried out online and are less conducive in delivering material. So, it can be concluded that the majority of students' answers received a positive response to the use of Google Classroom in practice writing in the EFL class.The use of Google Classroom also has several challenges, the results of student interviews explain that the challenges that are often experienced by students are understanding the material and internet connection constraints. So, it can be said that the use of Google Classroom can help students be more enthusiastic about learning to practice writing English.
