Abstract
The foundational knowledge required to comprehend language is vocabulary. The concept of "vocabulary" refers to one's comprehension of words, their meanings, and communication abilities. This research is motivated by students who cannot speak English due to a lack of Vocabulary. The objective of this study is to demonstrate the impact of Powtoon videos on students' vocabulary development. Purposive sampling was used in this study's quantitative data collection, and a quasi-experimental design with non-randomized or nonequivalent pre- and post-tests was used. The mean, median, and standard deviation of the data were calculated using SPSS version 22. The participants in this study were eighth-grade students from SMPN 2 Kemlagi Mojokerto. Pre-test and post-test questions were used in the experimental and control classrooms in this study to gather data. The findings revealed that all students' scores improved and that using Powtoon videos to help pupils learn new words was successful. Additionally, data from the control class and the experimental class' pre-test and post-test were gathered. The findings of the hypothesis analysis show that at a significance level of 0.05 (5%) and Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, the value of t count is 6.110 > t table 2.002, respectively. Based on the aforementioned calculations, the conclusion that Hα is accepted is that t-count > t-table or Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05, which is in considering this, it can be said that Powtoon videos can enhancing student's vocabulary mastery.
