Abstract

ABSTRACT Alvin Ardhiansyah. 2024. “Exploring the use of film in teaching writing at vocational high school”. Supervised by Mrs. Wiwik Mardiana. Thesis of English Education Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Universitas Islam Majapahit. This study explores the use of film as a medium for teaching writing skills in vocational high school. Using qualitative methods, data were collected through observations, and interviews. The findings suggest that incorporating films into the teaching process significantly improves students' engagement and creativity in writing. Films provide a rich visual and auditory experience that helps students grasp complex descriptive elements. By watching films, students can better understand how to describe scenes, characters, and emotions. The study concludes that films can make the learning process more interactive and enjoyable, fostering a more conducive environment for developing writing skills.
